What to expect

I know that going to therapy can feel scary. Talking to someone about your struggles may bring up painful and uncomfortable emotions, so it’s important to choose a therapist who you can trust and connect with.

We start with a free consultation, which is a chance for us to get a sense of how and if we can work together. We can talk about my approach to therapy and see if it aligns with your goals. You may ask whatever questions you have – or if you don’t know what to ask, that’s okay too.

If you decide that you’d like to get started, we will talk about a plan for moving forward, including the frequency and cost of our sessions.

While therapeutic methods and modalities are personalized for each client, certain principles never change:

  • Therapy works best when we have a trusting, collaborative approach to achieving therapeutic goals
  • Therapy can be challenging, and it takes time, but it’s also rewarding and can lead to lasting change
  • Change is slow, but I’m here for as long as you need me
